Why Start Cooking?

Putting your whole hip into a dish is the result of experience and comfort. The reason your grandmother could make a grilled cheese that could heal the racial divide of Mississippi is that it was not only her 250,000th grilled cheese, but also because she had comfort in her kitchen. A great meal involves the culmination of every failure and success you've had in a kitchen.
There is no better time to fail in the kitchen than today. The perfect grilled cheese is the reward at the end of the road paved in burnt-buttered white bread and split cheddar cheese. Failure is what propels success.
In all of this, why even start? I understand that not everyone has the time or the drive to dedicate the hours necessary to become a well-rounded cook. I do, however, believe that every person should have a fastball meal. It could be a scratch-made soup, banana bread, or even a pasta salad; something to show that love and time were put into a dish that I've given to you. Sometimes a hug cannot heal the wound, but a macaroni bake can. I implore you to get into the kitchen today and go wild. Go buy a seasoning that you cannot pronounce and put it in your next dish.
Experiment, Fail, and Learn.
